Working on...
I found a perfectly well conserved 70s herbarium in an old country house long ago uninhabited. It was formed by two notebooks filled by different plants, accompanied by a handwritten file with their family, gender and collection place. I started to photograph them, exploring the possibilities of breaking the stopped time in these dead plants, alive when collected. I thought about producing an herbarium made of portraits. I’ll go to the same collection places of the plants’ files and look for people in their last years. Like the herbarium plants, the elderly’s portraits would freeze the ephemeral nature of life.
